Julio of Jackson Heights

is a documentary film that chronicles how the 1990 gay bashing murder of Julio Rivera in the P.S. 69 schoolyard in Jackson Heights became the watershed moment for the LGBTQ community of Queens, NY. Here is some background from a New York Times article on the film and the story.

This page has been created to launch a campaign to increase awareness of the film and develop it as an educational tool for social change. Along with regular updates through the blog, we have a number of other pages including a welcome, an about page and an FAQ.

Please, look around the page, ask questions and spread the word, and consider contributing to the campaign or getting involved!
